“Of this be sure, you do not find the happy life…you make it”

image

This one statement holds so much power! YOU make a happy life, not your circumstances. It has taken me a long time to realize that, but knowing that now has changed my entire outlook on life. Yes, we all have ad days, tough weeks, even prolonged rough patches in our lives. We all have trials and tribulations that shape our identity…BUT you have to be shaped by the joy you see in those hard times. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says “rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.”  Rejoice always. ALWAYS. Think about that…always. That means without ceasing, not just when you can find something to be joyful about, but having a never ending joyful heart. It is a choice. It is a mindset. It takes training your heart and your brain. It takes continued and mindful effort. And when it’s hard? (Because it will be) then pray continually. An open dialog with the Lord will present his will (which is for you to be joyful always) so he will show you how. You will undoubtedly terrible tragedy where you think all joy is lost, but God has a plan and he reassures us that we do not have to lean on our own understanding. The Lord not only commands you to be joyful, but He lovingly wants that for your life and wants you to vigorously pursue that joy so that you can then pour it out to others.

You will have so many happy times in your life! I pray that the happy times far out number the bad times, but when the bad times show up at your door, you much CHOOSE to be happy. Do not be a victim of a circumstance. Do not let those trials own you and take you down. Do not let hard times define who you are. Do not let sadness rob you of your God given purpose. You are you! You are so special and the exact person The Lord has called you to be! So when life gets tough, you have a choice. I pray that you choose joy and happiness.

Joyfully,

Mommy

Will- Ten Months (3-23-16)

We are in the double digets! TEN months!!! I know I say this every month, but I cannot believe how fast time is flying! You are getting SO big!

image image image

Here is what you have been doing (or not doing):

You finally cut your third tooth! We have been holding strong with only two teeth for a couple of months and you finally cut a third one a couple of dayd ago (your top left front tooth).

You have NOT been crawling, pulling up, or going from laying to sitting up by yourself. You pediatrician thinks you should already be doing this (and you should) so you have been reccomended for physical therapy. We went to your evaluation and you did not do very well, you mainly fussed and cried when they made you do anything so now we will have to be working with you extra hard at home and starting therapy twice a week 🙁 The atribute it to poor core muscles (because you have not done your tummy time since you hate it). But we have really been working on tummy time and you are imporving! You like to be on your tummy a lot more, grabbing toys when you are on it. You roll all around the house when you are on the floor. You will even scoot backwards on the hardwood floor. We have tried to help you get into crawling possition…we are still working on that. But you are so close to crawling!

You are still SO happy! You smile all of the time. We can just look your way and you burst into giggles!

image image image image image

You love to be outside! You want to be on the go so bad so you can chase your sister all over the yard.

image image image imageimage

You love to be in your walker so that you can be on the move! And when you are on the move, you are into EVERYTHING! You love to get into drawers and pull out bowls, pots and pans, and you even like to pull out all of our magazines and chew on them.

You are eatting puffs and little baby finger foods. You love being able to feed yourself. You have also discovered you can feed Dixie the puffs too. Ha! We are trying to put a stop to that.

We love you more and more everyday (even though we think we couldnt love you more!)

Will- Nine Months (2-23-16)

To my little man,

Nine months!!! NINE MONTHS!!!! How has time passed by so quickly?! I cannot believe you have been here as long as I was pregnant with you. These past few months have flown by SO quickly! And you are getting so big! You are looking more and more like a littl eboy and less like a baby every day…but still the cutest little boy I have ever seen!

image image image

You are wanting to crawl so bad! But you havent yet so your pediatrician is reccomending you for physical therapy 🙁 But you love to get up and move! You love to be in your walker and race arounf the kitchen. You have learned to open drawers and try to pull anything out that is within your reach. You like to get in the “baby drawer” with all of your’s and Hayley’s plastic bowls and plates and pull things out and bang the bowls together. You like to race over to Dixie when she is eating and mess with her too. We put you in your walker in the driveway when we are playing out there and you race around and chase Hayley on her bike.

You are the HAPPIEST baby! You smile, laugh and giggle all of the time! Justlooking at you puts a smile on your face. Even walking up the stairs makes you giggle. 🙂 And you are so tickelish that we barely have to touch you for you to burst into laughter. We love to see you smile! When you smile you show off your two cute little teeth (yes, you still only have two teeth). You dont often get upset, but if I walk through the room and dont pick you up, you atart to fuss. You are a momma’s boy and I love it!

You are doing so much better about tummy time! You love to roll all over the place and hold yourself up on your belly and play with your toys. We have been trying to encourage you to crawl so we have kept you on the floor more and try to get you to come to us by shaking and holding up toys. No luck yet. You are just so laid back that you dont seem to care about crawling. But I know you will get the hang if it soon. You get frustated like you want to get up and move, but we arent there yet. But you are so close!

I have started puting you and Hayley in the bathtub togther at night for bathtime. You two both love it! You love playing in the bath with her and she loves splashing with you. She always asks to take a bath with “baby Will.”

You love to play outside! The weather has been so nice and warm that we have been out a lot. You love to sit on a blanket and watch Hayley play.

Will- Eight Months (1/23/16)

My adorable baby boy,

You are getting so big I just cant believe it! I want time to slow down! Where has my little baby gone!?!?! You got your first teeth this month! Yes, thats right…teeth…two! You now have two bottom teeth that came in about 2 weeks apart. You were fussy some, drooled a lot, and chewed on everything in sight. You still drool and chew on everything so I bet more teeth arent far behind. You reach and grab for everything. Your hand eye coordination is improving and you have become more interested in toys and the way they work (moving slides up and down, turning rotating or spinning objects, waving things around, focusing on one object, picking things up with one hand, etc). You also love to grab at cloths, jewlery, and especially hair! (Ouch!) You pull sisters and she getes so bent out of shape! I am trying to explain to her that you are just a baby, and that is what babies do. You reach really far out in front of you to try and grab toys, but if it is out of your reach, you dont really try to get it. I am thinking you may never crawl. Although, you tried to scoot yourself toward a toy in the bathtub that was out of your reach. We al lthink you might walk, but never crawl.

image image imageimage image

You love your sit and spin bouncer and your walker. You love to jump and stretch your legs in your bouncer and play with all of the toys. In your walker, you love to scoot around the kitchen to find anyone who might be around, and follow Hayley as she runs up and down the halyway and kitchen. One night you were in your walker and she was running back and forth in the kitchen and she had you laughing so hard! She even pushed you around and made you laugh even more. You two are so cute together and Hayley is starting to play with you more and more.

image

You have also found your voice and you use it all of the time! You want to talk so bad but you are just grunting loudly and screaming to get us to look at you, and it works! Hayley usually covers her ears. Haha!

This month was so much fun beacuse we got to celebrate your first Christmas! We did so much to celebrate the holiday and Santa came to see you and brought you tons of fun toys! (see Christmas post).

Not everything was all fun this month. You came down with a double ear infection 🙁 One night you woke up about 3 am and just cried amd fussed and wouldnt go back to sleep and I just knew you had one. You were even tugging at the hair right above your left ear. I called the doctor the next morning and took you in to see her. Sure enough, you had an ear infecction…in both ears! Ugh! But you habdled it well and after a round of anti-biotics and lots of tylonal later, you seem to be doing fine! I hate it when my baby is sick!

And i know I have sad it so many times, but you really are the happiest baby! You smile ALL of the time and we barely have to look at you and you bust out in giggles. You are truely a joy!
